Ernest Hemingway. Fijesta. (mp3). (Fiesta)
Real success came to this writer after he had published his first novel "the Sun Also Rises" (or "Fiesta"). The epigraph to the novel – "You are all a lost generation". Later these words became famous all over the world and after "Fiesta" was published came into use to characterize certain social and psychological phenomenon: word combination "lost generation" refers to people, who broke through hardships of the First World War and lost not only their health, but also trust in this world, in life and in future. Writers who experienced pains in the hell of war revealed moods and profundity of human misery in their works. Beyond question, Ernest Hemingway is a representative of the "lost generation" literature as he pays a lot of attention to people hurt by war – people of the "lost generation". This author is distinctive because he could see his generation not only in hopelessness, but in search of positives of life.

Prosper Merime. Bohdan Khmel‘nyts‘kyy. (mp3).

…we have a more or less objective look at Hmelnytskiy, even if Merimee as a writer added some fiction. Anyway, the work reveals the things you can never find in ordinary books. And even if it was a fable, I would advise you to read it, because this book is totally absorbing.
