The legendary master of the Kyiv kobza guild Mykola Budnyk has taken his place in the history of Ukrainian culture as the bearer of profound understanding of the authenticity of kobza-playing. Having taken the tradition over from the hands of the founder of the modern reconstructive kobza-playing movement G.K.Tkachenko, he with his own example, with the greatness of his vast talent brought that movement out from the underground to the broad expanses of the nationwide recognition.
