(item from the "Rare Discs" section) First Vasyl Zhdankin was heard great in 1989 while he had got The GP on the first festival “Chervona Ruta”. However, nothing has been heard about him for the latest 10 years. Thus, as for me it is for the first time while I hear about him. Moreover, you know this voice sounding explains why people have been waiting on his return through so many years. It’s for sure have to be waited on, because this bass voice has not only powerful force, it’s only pleasant timbre. The huge dramatic profundity, the capability to be either stern and strong or smooth, tender and limpid. It is the voice of a soldier who has nothing to loose except the last life battle. And the father’s voice who lull the baby at night. And a voice of a man who can work and gets a real joy working and shares with this happiness. There is a man’s nature in his sounding. Without it as well as without the woman’s nature the harmony is impossible. There are voices that cannot be called simply instruments. They are the personification of something more. Знаете ли, меня просто взбесил этот трек. Я даже представить не мог, что в Украине такое возможно. Одно дело, когда вещает Тягнибок - это жалко и смешно. Но когда у человека такой дар, такой голос... и такие вот комплексы.
Я каждый раз искренне желаю, чтобы отсох язык у тех, кто говорит о расколе Украины. Но этот исполнитель - это даже хуже. Замшелый ортодокс - из тех ряженых, что в России ходят с хоругвями. Я могу себе позволить путешествовать по миру, но езжу только по Украине, хочу познакомиться со всеми украинскими культурами. Мне не надо доказывать, что львовяне и жители других западно-украинских центров - люди толерантные и гостеприимные. Я бываю практически на всех фолковых фестивалях. И никогда такого не слышал, как трек №14 на этом диске. Я даже ушам своим не поверил. Это просто позор! И для этого сайта - тоже.

Отличный голос, манера, сопровождение.
Текст трека №14
"Отдали царя на закланіє, нечистим жидам - в поруганіє".
Я еще мог бы представить, что это чей-то текст. Для аутентичности, так сказать. Тем не менее, №14 "Господи помилуй" (музика: В. Жданкін, слова: В. Жданкін). Вообще, текст этой песни - очень особенный.
Короче, от православных все больше и больше воняет

Довгоочікувана зустріч через роки (від Першого фестивалю авторської пісні "Берегиня" - Луцьк, червень 1989 р.).
Василь Жданкін - спражній кобзар сучасності, Особистість.
Його вимушений переїзд із Рівного до Львова (через підступи недолугих чиновників) - суттєва втрата для Рівного, але ширші обрії для творчості самого Василя.
Мистецький же та фаховий рівень виконання коментарів слухача-аматора не потребує. Лише слухати і сприймати душею.

Хочу висловити велику подяку пану Василю за чудову гру на кобзі та прекрасні пісні - народні, козацькі або на релігійну тематику, написані ним самим або знову відроджені з народної пам'яті для української культури. Це справді унікальна, талановита людина, його спів залишає у душі незабутні світлі враження та глибокі відчуття. Нехай Бог дасть пану Василю довгих літ життя, а люди зможуть його почути.
