"Recording peculiarities of Lviv speech in the twentieth century is the focus of this work. The sources were the authors' own observations of the vocabulary of their native city's speakers, as well as fiction and memoirs by Lviv authors. The specific feature of the book – in addition to interpretation of many words, set phrases, phraseologisms, proverbs, and sayings somewhat forgotten – is the extensive quotes mentioning Lviv traditions and customs, historical events, routine life peculiarities. Characters of these mini-tales are not only fictional characters, but also frequently – well-known Lvivites."
