Valentyn Sylvestrov, Kyiv Camerata. Chamber Works.
"...From the first phrases of any work by Valentyn Sylvestrov sounding, a number of visual associations emerge in one's imagination: wonderful poetic clarity, delicate sound refinement, the special atmosphere of the "Hush and Silence, which vibrate"... The listener discovers a world of magical tender melodies, simple and beautiful due to their honest harmonious chords, exquisite tone modulations, and crystal wealth of sound. Pulsation of the live sound matrix envelops the listener and plunges his/her into the perfect world of spatial Infinity, where the play with intonation and rhythmic "author" symbols and signs, the quietest sound colors, shimmering chiaroscuro of musical and emotional nuances starts. It is exactly due to these features that music by Valentyn Sylvestrov is recognized in the modern music space. Bare emotions, open conflicts are not characteristic of the composer's music expression. He avoids any excessive volume, but at the same time the music entices the entire range of emotional colors, various states are revealed by nuances, halftones. Uniqueness of Silvestrov's music language is, above all, the special music colorfulness – which just cannot be compared to anything..." Hanna Lunina, musicologist (information from the release's polygraphy)

Soloists: Valeriy Matyukhin (piano), Lidia Stovbun (soprano), Andriy Kyrpan (horn), Lyudmyla Voynarovska (soprano), Dmytro Tavanets (piano), Valentyn Sylvestrov (piano).

Valentyn Sylvestrov, Kyiv Camerata. Meditation (symphony for violoncello and chamber orchestra).

His "Meditation" is a symphony for a violoncello and a chamber orchestra. Meditation in a general sense is a state, a process and quality at the same time. Since a symphony is called to reproduce and to recreate the first, the second and the third, it is hopeless to reproduce the content. This music...
