Hi, everybody - and special greetings to those who like the art of Ani Lorak. Let's come to agreement right now that we do not take into account the album of remixes released earlier, as they are derivative and derived even by their titles and nature. Then, this album of hers is the first one. In several senses. And I think that these senses in whole may excite great respect to Karolina's talents. Because "Ani Lorak" is the first album being released by her as the performer, the author of music and the author of the songs performed at the same time. I must admit that this girl copes with her task with dignity. I knew earlier that she masters her beautiful voice perfectly well. But it is quite a different quality and quite a different level of artistic development of a person when this person is the performer and the author of the songs performed at the same time. It is very pleasant, especially when it concerns girls. According to Ani Lorak, this album and these songs appeared only thanks to a certain experience which had appeared in her life. The experience which had inspired her to compose these songs and had given her the right to sing them simply and honestly, for herself. So, everybody who is interested must understand that this album is a special one. Due to this it is much more pleasant to listen to it - one wants to smile at a person with such inner light. At least, personally I have such desire. I should also mention that the disk has three video tapes of Ani Lorak. I would also like to add that the album is nicely designed - I mean the cover. And some words about polygraphy - there's a surprise waiting for you inside.

hanks to her website, I already had a good preview of what I'll find on her
CD. This one is a masterpiece. So modern, and still so musically influenced
by ukrainian (folk) music. She has a delightful voice, and I guess she knows
it, but she's also very talented as a composer ! This CD is enjoyable from
the very beginning to the very end, which is rare enough to mention it ! My
very favourite track goes to 'Ìð³é Ïðî Ìåíå' because it's the one reflecting
most what makes to me that CD so special : real ukrainian touch in modern
music - other artist to do so is Ruslana. Not these stupid 'remix' of
traditional folk songs (please spare me this), this album was the perfect
ally to Ruslana's wild dances as it's showing another part of ukrainian
influences. Talking about Ani Lorak, not the CD but the singer, I'm so
disapointed by her try-out in english. I dont have anything against that
language, I have something against the traks in her lastest CD 'Smile'.
What's that ? What made me proud happy and interested by her as an artist
just disapeared. She's now no more than a modern pop-artist that could be
originally from everywhere in the world. There's now way to guess that she's
ukrainian in her songs. It's only commercial - and I would say 'cheap'. The
songs are moreover disgracious according to me (Another little shot was
poor, but Smile is even worse, not to mention 'car song') so i'm so
disapointed by the way Ani Lorak chose.

I agree with M!ss xoxo, Ani's songs could have a bigger success if her album was sold abroad too. She is beautiful, a nice voice, good rhythm and that funny accordion used in some of the tracks is just lovely.
So, in few words: very nice album. Hope to see Ani abroad soon!

Relaxed music with "southern style" - one could say the Ukraininan answer to the latest Jennifer Lopez tunes - but much more better! Even Ani ... enjoy the music!
