On February, 21, 2008, the folklore expedition of the project Dazzle Dreams Sound System left for Nepal. The primary objective of the project is searching and recording of countries' ethnic music – music samples, accumulation of an original record library and its integration into their own music. During one week, the guys accumulated a great number of original samples, and they became part of new tracks by Dazzle Dreams.

Я сегодня приобрел этот фильм, который я собирался послать своим друзьям, живущим за рубежом. Меня заинтересовал фильм, а также тот факт, что озвучивание производится на английском языке - я хотел, чтобы они посмотрели фильм о городе и смогли оценить его красоту.
Я очень рад, что решил посмотреть фильм сам, перед его тправкой. Если честно, я немного шокирован качеством фильма. Он, видимо, снимался в советские времена и оставляет после просмотра очень странный, "совковый" осадок, ничем не похожий на те впечатления, которые возникают после осмотра достопримечательностей города вживую. Сильный акцент человека, который озвучивал фильм на английском языке, непрофессиональная работа оператора, плохое качество самого фильма и его обработка, непонятные и часто не нужные кадры женщин с колясками и т.д. и т.п. Обидно, что о таком городе снят фильм такого низкого качества...

Не могу сказать, что фильм понравился, хотя смотрела без всякого раздражения. Удивительно, как автор ещё и премии получает. В одном месте фильма совершенно неуместно использованы части (!) песни А.Симона без указания этого факта в титрах. Но это ладно.
Киев куда красивее и поэтичнее, чем пытается представить автор. Я москвичка, но бывала и жила в Киеве не раз, поэтому за свои слова отвечаю. Лучше почитаю лишний раз книги о Киеве, посмотрю фотографии, чем лишний раз посмотрю этот фильм. Неясна авторская концепция. Видеоряд жутко однообразен, особенно поездки взад-вперёд по Крещатику. Можно подумать, что в Киеве царит вечный яркий жаркий день. Мне после просмотра захотелось пить. А ведь в Киеве есть чудесные зимние дни, тихие летние рассветы, солнечные осенние полдни и буйство весны. У Киева богатейшая история, которую автор подаёт расплывчато. Хорошо, например, что нашёл место для Бабьего Яра, но тогда уж мог бы упомянуть и о других событиях в жизни Киева времён Второй Мировой.
Левый берег для нашего автора практически не существует (пляжи, которые он снял, - не в счёт).
Операторская работа не вполне удачная - это ракурсы и время суток для телерепортажа, а не для документального фильма. И то можно было найти более выигрышные точки.

Супер матеріял для учнів в середніх школах. Це добре що воно в двох мовах. Особливо важлива справа для людей які живуть в англо-мовних країнах. Гарно було б мати щось такого про Лвів.

Very good DVD, Gave me good insight to the places I will see when I make my first visit in December 2005. English narration is very well spoken.

Вообще неплохо, жить можно, но эт маршрут для туристов. А вот для настоящих киевлян я нашел вариант путеводителя намного интереснее:

"My Kyiv" is an excellent introduction to Kyiv image.
The quality is very good, and it covers main points of interest in Kyiv.
