(item from the "Rare Discs" section) Promotional action of the album “Wild Dances” says that this is a revolution for the Ukrainian pop-music. I must admit that this is really so. This is a new and even somewhat revolutionary quality. Ruslana has always differed from the rest of the Ukrainian pop-singers by her special attitude to native musical traditions and traditions themselves. If her first steps in this direction were well-known Christmas concerts and actions aimed at renewal of castles and fortresses of the Western Ukraine, now in her creative work musical roots of the Carpathian mountains quite naturally are brought to the forefront. Combined with modern quality of a sound and a voice, as well as the manner of performance, which, I hope, touch everybody, this music just turns into a squall of an impassioned energy, impetuous and inspired, merry and light. ALBUM – Äèê³ Òàíö³ (Wild Dances)
This is a fantastic album by Ruslana and I would recommend it to anybody who enjoys her work or cultural Ukrainian music. Only speaking English and not understanding the songs in her native Ukrainian language doesn’t bother me – I think that it adds to the songs. My favourite songs on this album are Öå - Ëþáîâ (It is Love) and Çíàþ ß (I Know) - Fantastic!

My first Ukrainian CD also, and what an introduction! This woman does things musically that I've never heard before. She is adventurous and dynamic. The songs are frequently complex, changing radically as they progress. I was getting bored with popular music until I listened to this CD, and to the other Ukrainian artists I've gotten into thanks to Ruslana. I don't know what is going on in the Ukraine, but the music is incredibly refreshing compared to the muck dished up to us here by the music "industry". This is great stuff.

While I don't know the words that Ruslana is singing, the rhythm of the music is captivating. I was introduced to this album by an exchange student from the Ukraine this past year. Ruslana is definately a national treasure of the Ukraine.

tere! mulle nii väga meeldib ruslana cd, esimese plaadi ma kuulasin peaaegu ribadeks (enam ei lähe tööle) siis ma ostsin teise ka ja seda ma hoian väga(ei kuula enam ribadeks:) ) ma tahaks kõiki ruslana plaate. ma olen kunstnik ja need lood annavad väga palju inspiratsiooni. ennem ei teadnud ma ukrainast kuigi palju aga tänu temale ma tean nüüd päris hästi kus see asub jne. aitähh Sulle!

Although not speaking Ukrainian, I am a Ruslana fan. I really enjoy listening to her singing in Ukranian, as the energy and the beauty of the language combine to reveal a truly spell binding performance and package. This is a CD worth buying, listening to, and absorbing - whether you understand Ukranian or not!
