The Ensemble of traditional ethnic music "Buttya". Zhyttja Buttja. Rural Music of Ukrainians. (Life Being)
The But family became the basis of the "Being" ensemble as long ago as in 2000 – and, above all, Oleg But. Both the family and the ensemble have been slowly growing since then. The growth relates both to the number and quality – however, participants of the ensemble from the very beginning require serious professionalism from themselves. And – adhere to the selected course, they even create with their own hands some instruments. Behind the back of these musicians, there are a lot of folklore expeditions through villages of Ukraine – and access to a great volume of unique material. "Being" has the objective of recreating, as well as the most exact restoration possible of sounding of traditional rural ensembles. As a result – the ensemble is an active promoter of Ukrainian culture, it takes part in numerous festivals, festive amusements, "vechornytsi". Moreover – it is the co-organizer of the "Traditional Dance School". Speaking about the album "Life Being", it can be called retrospective – it represents rural music from a lot of corners of Ukraine at once, dances and songs from Transcarpathia and Poltava Region. Considering that each of the localities represented here had a special instrumental composition of ensembles – the work was, probably, laborious. But the result is successful – varied, bright, to say nothing about its being educational.
