Another volume of the audio reference book by the "Jazz Kolo" project is, as you see, focused on masters of drumkit playing. It is nice to see that this time there again appears so much material that the compilers did not manage to squeeze everything into one disc. It is nice to see that there is enough space both for "veterans" of the Ukrainian jazz, and for the absolutely young generation. To say nothing about such musicians as
Olexiy Fontanaev,
Igor Gnydyn, Oleg Markov et al. – about those who during the few recent years have been actively forming the new face, new quality of the Ukrainian jazz. And who have been doing that very decently, at a high professional level. In total – 22 compositions, 22 small trips, separate manners, ways of perception. Very different music is collected here – in the end, as it must be in an encyclopedia – but, we think, far not every encyclopedia will be as interesting to look through as this one..
