Dmitry Krasnoukhov. Birth of Angel.

A new work by Dmitry Krasnoukhov, a new turn in his creative quest – and from outside this does not really resemble what we could hear in the album "Drops of Rainbow". Dmitry defines this rather new for him direction as new age music. We will not deny, but will add something that we consider necessary. Very often atmospheric synthesized sounding, playing with special effects, slow and washed out structures lie in the basis of new age. And here – it is different, and synthesized sounding performs the role of the background, adds colors, hint at the mood. No more. Here – all the same, piano melodies form the basis, and development of each piece, each theme takes place exactly following the logic of piano playing. Thus – it is pleasant to admit – these are again the melodies that are surprisingly soft, transparent, tender. When an author does not set the objective of just boasting his/her technical mastery, formally having fun with methods of musical thinking – then other things come to the forefront. Then what becomes important – is a soul's touching another soul, feeling joy inside and welcoming joy of another person, preserving warmth... Yes, light warmth – here are, maybe, the simplest and most appropriate words with which it is possible to describe this music. And it would be still better to find some other definition for it – not new age...
