It is not by chance that the new album by Natalka Karpa is titled "Story". This time she suggests not just listening to a selection of songs united by a common topic, as it usually happens. This time this is really a story – of relations, feelings, and thoughts. Naturally, the feeling that is in the center of the narrative is love – and this theme is revealed not only in texts of the songs. Each song is preceded by a short dialogue between a man and a woman, and it is these dialogues that set the tone, hint at some specific nuances of relations. Thus, there are meetings, and separations, and flashbacks, and dreams, disappointments and hopes – everything, as it should be. The only thing that is not here is complete repudiating of love as such, and this kind of protest would be odd. Finally, it is possible to turn down relationships with a concrete person – but one should not deprive one's heart of its desire and ability to love. And Natalka Karpa does not deprive, as it is a romantic story. Well, and the music aspect of this "Story" is as varied as nuances of the story. That is why there are here stirring, dancing melodies, there are ballads, there is R'N'B – in other words, modern youth pop-music.
