Personally I would like the creative activities of Lesya and Halyna Telnyuk to be much more popular and to become a part of mass culture. Fortunately, my wish may come true only if and when this mass culture changes and grows so much that it will have the right to be called a real culture. If that's the case, the music of such kind has a chance to become usual, ordinary and inconspicuous. Though, I must admit, it does not seem possible. It seems impossible not only because mass culture has its own laws and rate of growth, being oriented in this or that way not so much at cultivating taste as at making money. It seems impossible because the sisters always follow the way of constant self-perfection and it looks as if they had no inclination to turn off this way. In its turn, this fact means that they are practically doomed to be always aloof from a warm, comfortable and grey mainstream. They are also doomed to attract the attention of those, who look not only down but also wish to look behind the horizon, to themselves and to their creative activities. The sisters Telnyuk create musical canvases, which are filled with their personal space and have the depth of such quality that you may dive into them (the pictures) with your head and to live there, to breathe and to be engaged into real co-authorship. Still, if you meet them not for the first time, then you know that by yourselves. In that case you know some of those songs. But you should know that half of the songs of the album "Selected" – which is, by the way, a double one – have never been recorded before. Now we listen to them – and it is very good.
