We would like to call your attention to the disc devoted to the 55 – th anniversary (!) of the creative activities of Dmytro Hnatuyk. Actually, there’s more than one disc of such kind – all in all, there are five of them. Taking into consideration the global character of this collection – after all, the recording sounds for six hours – one may be sure in two things at once. In the first place, this disc contains those songs performed by Hnatuyk, which you like most of all. In the second place, I think that while listening to this disc you will hear a lot of new songs for the first time. May be, you will hear them for the first time in your life, or may be you will hear them for the first time after many years that have passed since you last heard them. At that, it concerns both the whole collection and each disc separately, because each disc contains songs composed in different years and each of them contains folk songs, as well as author’s songs and arias from some operas. In that way, each separate disc has its own value – and also gives the possibility not only to recollect something, but also to discover something new in the talent and in the personality of Dmytro Hnatuyk. Still, you might not know who I am talking about. Then, please, meet Dmytro Hnatuyk. There’s no doubt about the fact that his voice deserves agreeable attention. It has been deserving such attention for 55 years – a real person-epoch of the history of the Ukrainian pop-art.
