I would probably call his voice vivid. Yes, of course, other epithets are possible here, even many of them, but for me exactly this vividness seems to be very important. Thanks to it, the whole disc is being listened to without taking a breath, as something which is integral, festive and joyous. Even though some of these songs are almost 20 years old. But still there is something cloudless, open and radiant in these songs and in the manner of Ivan Popovich’s performance – at some moments it seems as if you inhale the fresh air. May be, it is necessary to mention here that at this very moment I am in a room, in a town, at the height of the early night heat. The rain is necessary. And this singing, its spirits and cheerful mood just pull me quietly out of heat and place me into a coolness of the rest. It seems to me that a listener with any taste in music will estimate this freshness and elevation at their true worthall. Only because it is a joyful singing. May be, with a tender shade of nostalgia.
