Oleksandr Nesterov. Contaminated Sound.

Composer Oleksander Nesterov is known as the author of music to feature and documentary films. His perception of the world, his sensation of music amazes. This is something absolutely special: when he tells about music of different styles, it seems, that he speaks about other dimensions of space. The project which is submitted on this disc is special too. I never heard about similar products in Ukraine and all over the world. There is Exclusion Zone around the Chernobyl atomic power station now . It is possible to tell, that in this territory the mankind already has lost in fight with man-caused civilisation. In this territory the children's laughter or crying will not sound any more. The songs and ceremonies of natives of these places have disappeared. So, national ceremonies which existed centuries and were closely connected to world around have disappeared under influence of a civilisation. This fight, is shown in Oleksander's work. Modern musicians Oleksander Nesterov, Jury Jaremchuk and Serhiy Hmel'ov and ensemble of authentic singing "Drevo" which plays traditional songs of villages of the Chernobyl zone have taken part in record of this compact disc. For the first time this product was performed on April, 22, 1996 on the Maydan Nezalezhnosti in Kyiv. Recording was made on April, 22, 1998. It is very interesting that April, 22 is a birthday of Oleksander Nesterov. Compact disc has stylish black-and-white appearance which on hundred percents comply with music. Photos made in the Exclusion Zone by known Ukrainian photographer Oleksander Gljadelov were used in the design of the cardboard box and of the multipage booklet. There are short data on musicians which took part in the project and two reviews of the work - in Ukrainian and English languages in the booklet also.
