Dankevich has developed his style in the 10 years since composing Bogdan Khmelnitsky. It is still a nationalist work incorporating many folk elements, but it doesn't convince on any level. One would expect some form of originality and mastery found in his contempories from the other soviet satelite states.The conducting is workmanlike as is the singing. For those that care about these things it is in stereo. As usual there are no notes and I have no idea what hte work is about. Musically there is also no clue, and I'm not impressed enough to research it. One to gather dust on the shelf
