Yelyzaveta Chavdar. Best Opera Pieces.
The disk presents some brightest pages of creative work of one of the most outstanding opera stars of 1950s – Yelyzaveta Ivanivna Chavdar, a great Ukrainian singer.
Her career was unusually turbulent and distinguished. Four years after she graduated from Odessa Conservatoire she was bestowed the most honorary title – national artist of the USSR (only 5 performers in Ukraine had the title at that time: M. Hryshko, P. Belynnyk, L. Rudenko, B. Hmyrya and Ye. Chavdar).
The most exigent experts awarded her the palm at international contests in Budapest and Berlin.
The singer’s unusual rich innate abilities, musical talent, perfect stage gifts and exceptional diligence helped her to become a principal of Kyiv Opera-House where she created 19 major parts (Gilda, Rosina, Violette, Liudmyla, Antonida, Marfa, Marilza, Iolan etc.)
Chavdar’s singing enchanted by thorough mastery, perfect and exquisite performance and pure sound of pleasing and unique timbre. Her voice was compared with Stradivarius’ best violin and her performance was considered to be a benchmark.
Chavdar’s unforgettable recitals should be recalled separately. They were always arranged perfectly as to themes and style and they were great success. She was applaud in Czechoslovakia, Germany, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Canada, Greece, India and other countries where she presented domestic vocal.
When Yelyzaveta Chavdar finished her stage career, she was the head of the sub-faculty of solo singing in Kyiv Conservatoire for almost 10 years, and she taught N. Biorro (Kravtsova), V. Lukyanets, L. Kolos, A. Solovyanenko, L. Davymko and others. Ye. Chavdar was a permanent judge at Chaykovskiy International Contest, Glinka All-Union Contest and Lysenko All-Republic Contest. She opened ways to high art for many talented singers.

Only now, when she has become known abroad – they start writing and speaking about Marta in Ukraine. Actually, here is the first album that has come out... On the other hand – we can rejoice in the fact that this progress is still happening. For the voice – it is good, skills – present, and it would be a pity to fail to notice a talented young artist.
