Assia Akhat. Chocolate.

Offered for your attention is a disc that today it is not that easy to come across – "Chocolate" is the second album by Asiya Ahat. And, actually, the song "Chocolate" – was virtually her first hit. So, what does this album consist of? First of all, of light, almost transparent melancholy – it frequently happens with all those romantic confessions and meditations. It is they that penetrate through texts of all the songs. But, first of all, it is an album of nice pop music. At that, not primitive one – here, there are a lot of components that make the sound varied. Even the fact that the highlight instrument here is the violin does not make its presence too importunate. On the contrary, the violin solo creates an original background, mood. And only against this background all discoveries of arrangement experts, all additional sound ornaments start looking to their advantage. However, let’s also note that here this ornamenting did not become an end in itself – which means that it achieved the goal, made the album more interesting having left it easy for perception.

Songs are in Russian.

I bought this after listening to Homo Novus. I was expecting heavy violin with very few vocals. What I got was the opposite :(. So if you only like the instrumental like me, try to stick to Homo Novus.

Interesting mix.

It is a little unusual (at first) to hear Rappers with Violins, but this is just another genre mix, which works - Rappers are only on a couple of tracks.

A good album to get into - whatever your mood!
