Folk ensemble "Kumasen'ky". Ukrajins'ki zastol'ni pisni.
Both the name of the ensemble and the title of the album themselves must dispose you to a certain mood. That is, dispose you to an absolute rest. Because it is difficult even to imagine how one can meet a godfather of his child and not have a glass of vodka with him. And if one starts with one glass, he goes on and on. And if there is such state of affairs, a Ukrainian cannot do without a song. He can listen to others or sing by himself - he does both things with great pleasure. This particular disc contains the songs which are more often performed under such circumstances. At that, it may be surprising, but these songs never become boring to you. On the contrary - they often come out in a new light. So, what do we have as a result? We have a whole ensemble of Godfathers and the whole disc of drinking songs. What do we lack? May be, we lack a table - and everything which should be on the table. It is well-known that it is not obligatory. One may have a cup of tea with the Godfather of his child. But still, why not have a glass of vodka?

Ukrainian song and dance party. Golden Collection.

...music recorded at the CD is really various, cheerful and alive. I would like to stress – alive. Forty one tracks – forty one groups from the whole country, and at that there’s no synthesizers here. It is, I’d rather say, a force...

Down-to-earth, yet rich and beautiful voices singing the kind of songs one at once feel are typically ukrainian. Excactly the kind of music I am looking for.
