It must have been really difficult for compilers of this collection. Dmytro Gnatyuk is one of those people whose creative inheritance is huge – and, at the same time, all of it is characterized by high quality. For this reason, I think, it was difficult to select the best songs among those each of which can be called the best. But, on the other hand, in this situation it is almost impossible to make a mistake – in fact, if all songs are beautiful one can compile them in any order. In this case, the choice was made for the benefit of variety songs. Quite clear – as it is exactly when performed by Dmytro Gnatyuk that an enormous number of variety songs by Ukrainian composers became real folk tops. Actually, he is one of those due to whom Ukrainian variety song developed and became famous far beyond Ukraine. There is something in it, some transparent depth, which does not leave you indifferent, so that you feel that the song is performed not formally, as it happens sometimes, but it comes from inside. That’s the reason why it sounds somehow intimately – as if this person himself once composed this song and still remembers why and how it happened.

Fantastic voice and orchestration - all a great pleasure to listen to. Highly recommended for a wide variety of Ukrainian music, some with choral background.

Дмитрий Гнатюк отличается камерной манерой исполнения. Слушать его несколько труднее, чем его коллег Огневого или Кондратюка, Соловьяненко, исполняющих те же эстрадные номера или лучше сказать эстрадную классику. (Здесь я конечно же не хочу сказать, что искусство перечисленных мною выше исполнителей менее глубоко и художественно). Оговорюсь, что это классика подлинная, высокая. Дмитрий Гнатюк - одна из верший украинской эстрады и не только эстрады, песенной культуры Украины. У нас в семье все знают об этом певце, слушают и любят песни в его исполнении. Этого певца можно и не понять вначале, но до него нужно, просто необходимо дойти. Мне лично было бы очень трудно понять человека, любящего музыку и пение, который был бы равнодушен или настроен негативно по отношению к Д. Гнатюку. Диск прекрасно оформлен художественно. И пени подобраны тщательно. Но конечно излишне говорить, что этим и исчерпывается всё наследие Дмитрия Гнатюка. Скорее, этот диск подойдёт, очень подойдёт, в том числе, для первого знакомства с певцом. Как я был рад, что на диск попали Песня про рушник, Ничь яка мисячна, Мой Киев, Ясени... ! Таким образом, этот диск я называю лучшим диском, содержащим вокалы Дмитрия Гнатюка. Но, Умка представляет нам и более крупный проект - серию дисков с песнями этого великого певца. К сожалению, покамест не полную.
