The 2nd International Kharkiv Jazz Festival "KHARKIV ZA JAZZ FEST" will take place from the 21st to the 24th March in Kharkiv. The organizer of the activity is Kharkiv Theatre Center (www.khatece.com).
Apart from the other music forums, the organizers of ZA JAZZ FEST have placed an accent on the international level of the event. Trying to focus on the diversity of the jazz art, the organizing committee succeeded to bring to Kharkiv musicians from all corners of the world: from the USA, France, Germany, Russia, Israel, Lithuania, Poland, Ukraine, Switzerland.
Another authentic side of the forum is a high level of the performers. Not only internationally-known musicians like Ron Carter (USA), Martial Solal (France), Jed Levy (USA), Hendrik Merkeus (the USA), Misha Tsyganov (USA), John Brennan (Switzerland), J.D.Walter (USA), Anatoliy Gerasimov (Russia), Andrey Kondakov (Russia) will come together to Kharkiv but also our domestics star performers, many of whom have grown into non-ordinary jazz musicians right here, in Kharkiv. Today they have successfully found an ethnic niche in the rapidly developing Ukrainian jazz culture. Among them are Sergey Davydov, Dmitry Alexandrov, Denis Dudko, Vladimir Shabaltas, Alexander Lebedenko, Aleksey Saranchin…
On final day of the forum class with Mr. Martial Solal (France) will stage a master class and conduct practical training for students and teachers at Kharkiv Conservatory.
