Sax Battle - Bogdan Gumenyuk vs Viktor "Zedan" Pavelko

Date: 7 September

Time: 22:00

Venue: art-club "44" (44-b Khreschatyk St.)

Entry: UAH 50

Autumn Jazz Night will be opened by two saxophone players: Bogdan Gumenyuk and Viktor "Zedan" Pavelko.

Battle of these two will probably be the "jazziest" concert of the season. Very often, people distinguish jazz from the rest of the music just by hearing or not hearing a saxophone in it. If they hear it, then it’s jazz. Jazz admirers, who know a little bit more about the saxophone music, understand that the music which Bogdan Gumenyuk and Viktor Pavelko write is the jazz itself. And when two saxophone players stand on one scene, it means that it’s a Sax Battle night.

Bogdan Gumenyuk:

Bogdan holds "The best saxophone player" prize of one of the main jazz contests in CIS - "Do#Dj Junior" (2006). Thanks to the expert jury of the contest, Bogdan got a well deserved name of the best young saxophone player in Ukraine. Bogdan Gumenyuk plays his own music. Most of the compositions played by his project Bogdan Gumenyuk Trio are written by Bogdan.
