About Pur:Pur. Our history as a band started quite recently, in February 2008 to be precise, when we posted our first video on Youtube. Since then we expanded to become an acoustic trio, released two of our albums on the Internet, played at a relatively big number of venues and events, had our videos circulating on national music channels and even seen our official website cloned, publishing details about us we do not always know ourselves! The main idea behind the band was to create something pure (hence our name, pur:pur), almost perfectly pure, with all the unnecessary elements expelled from our musical material. This is why we first recorded and performed as an acoustic trio (with Natalia Smirina as a singer, Eugene Zhebko and Stas Kononov on guitars). Nevertheless, as far as we could judge from the reaction of the audience, reviews in the press and on the web, we have succeded in turning this classic acoustic line-up into something that sounded fresh, exciting yet powerful in a right sense of the word. We are now also trying a slightly different approach, somewhat of a sonic expansion with bass and full percussion set. This gives us more mature sound, but keeps things "fresh".
