It is not for the first time that we call your attention to the art of "Kyiv" chamber choir. It is not for the first time either that we call your attention to "The Liturgy of St. John Zlatoust". This time performed in the version of not simply wonderful, but also outstanding Ukrainian composer Yevhen Stankovych. Today Stankovych has become not only a living classical composer of Ukrainian sacred and secular music – in our days his compositions occupy an appropriate place in the world treasury of art. As for this particular composition and this particular edition, there are two aspects here. On the one hand, the choir music artistically arranged by the composer occupies a considerable place and that’s why deserves a special attention. On the other hand, the initiator of composing exactly "The Liturgy of St. John Zlatoust" became Mykola Hobdych – essentially, the conductor and the leader of "Kyiv" chamber choir. Under such circumstances this performance and then this edition had practically no chances not to occur. And though Stankovych himself calls this Liturgy a composition, which is more secular than sacred, listen to it – it seems to me that he exaggerates a bit.
