If our constant visitors took into their heads to collect all Liturgies of St. John Chrysostom, which have been presented at our web site (composed by different composers, performed by different ensembles), it would be a considerable collection. And today it might be enriched by one more exhibit. It would look bright even against the general bright background, because the author of this Liturgy is Myroslav Skoryk who is an uncommon composer to the measure not only of Ukraine. In his creative activities he easily combines cold intellectuality of modern rhythms and transparent tenderness and sensuality of melodies. He revealed himself almost in all famous and some indeterminate musical forms – and at that, revealed himself successfully. He became such an independent artist that he is able to create masterpieces even in quite conservative frames of sacred music (I mean the music, which is performed in churches). As a matter of fact, this Liturgy is one of manifestations of such inner freedom. Canons are adhered to, but the search is taking place as well. It balances by itself, and balances listeners out. Still, the high level masterly performance of the choir plays not the last role – for the time being “Kyiv” is one of the best choirs, and you have a chance to see it by yourselves again.
