Alexey Kogan. ..Just 50.

In 2009, Kyiv will for the second time already host "Jazz in Kiev" – one of the brightest, in spite of such a "young" age, Ukrainian jazz festivals. While everything started in November 2007 – with a festive jazz marathon commemorated to Alexey Kogan's anniversary. Actually, the disc that you see was released exactly on the occasion of that holiday – here, one can hear almost all of the artists who took part in that concert. And, honestly speaking, this is still – one of the most interesting jazz compilations released in Ukraine. Here, it is just impossible to expressly favor any compositions forgetting about the rest: too expressive, interesting, deep, and the main thing – diversified pieces sound on the disc. In the end, one could just look at the names, listen to the fragments – you will see with your own eyes that this disc is really able to embellish the collection of any music fan not indifferent to jazz. The more so that the whole compiling here is – perfect, due to which the recording can be listened through literally at one go. Therefore, here we just thank Alexey once again – and not only for this collection...
