Ephyra. Symphony.

First of all I will mark that these guys are Ukrainians who live and perform beyond the ocean (if to have a look from Ukraine), in the city of Chicago. A nice place, by the way. People who come from it – even those who came from it in the remote times of jazz – have greatly influenced modern musical culture in general and the development of an alternative music in particular. To tell the truth, in this particular case it is quite a different matter. Personally I would say that as far as music is concerned, it is just rock. It is rock in that form, which here in Ukraine it has been getting only within a few last years, that is high-quality and rich. Sometimes it is really tense – it is energy, after all – but still melodious. It is exactly this melodiousness together with tension that arise the feeling of a flow, which is strong enough for whirlpools to appear from time to time. And the draw in, as you know. Well, all the same it is pleasant to dine into this flow – the water is warm, and with every new track it gets warmer and warmer. Going back to my first remark, I must say that it is pleasant after all that even far away from here young people do not only forget their roots, but take a step forward. You see, it might be much easier to sing folk songs – still they perform their songs. It is a search, and it is good.
