Atelye "Drabyna". Ne zаbаrymos.

As usual, Kharkiv is taken for a Russian-speaking city. Still, if its inhabitants address themselves to singing in Ukrainian, something really interesting comes out of it. Here is the example of the Ukrainian folk, to which, to in a general sense, even Ukrainians have not got used to. The usual thing about it is that at this disc old songs are performed. But as for their interpretation and the way of presentation... Here it is said that "Atelye..." presents modern Ukrainian vanguard at this disc. Besides, something is said about underground. So, when listening to this music, you understand that if the words "avanguard", "underground" and "folk" are the notions not so much synonymous, still they are very similar. Somehow it turns out to be that those who try to go further and be at the wave crest, first of all always turn to the deepest roots. And the roots have the peculiarity to interlace all over the world. That is why it is not surprising that those who are looking for real roots in the different parts of the globe take the creative activity of "Atelye...", and their music in particular, with pleasure. The other thing is surprising for me – why up to now there are so few searches like that, at least those, which are slightly known to us. And this is understandable. Thus, this music sometimes resembles square apples and hot ice. Still – why not?
