Today we have the grounds for joy. Oleh Skrypka, the frontman of the frontgroup VV, has recorded his solo album. I think, you may be sure in advance that you will not be bored while listening to this album. It will not be boring because Skrypka is constantly looking for something new and is constantly finding something new. And he is constantly exceeding the bounds of his own boons. It was in his compositions that I first heard the mixture of the Eastern tunes and Ukrainian folklore at the background of cheerful punk-rock. As for this album, one may say that this is a romance plus la chanson (in its French meaning, including the language of performance as well). This is the collection of songs which were and are loved if not in the whole world, then in many houses of the world. Being arranged by Skrypka himself, these songs get new and a bit unusual, if not interesting, sounding. With his own vision he appeals to several cultural layers at the same time. In a way it is another attempt to get to a new level of communication, to discover a new universal language. That is why, I think, even people with quite different preferences in music may find something interesting for themselves. No, this album does not shoot. It repairs, it sets to consonance of everybody with everything. Listen what the evening is telling you about. It is a nice story-teller. Are you a good listener? Anton Jozhik Leyba (Hedgehog) Note! This album is also released as a vinyl LP.

In terms of the sound, one would call this album, quite unexpectedly, ... a collection of romantic songs. The manner of performance, the melody pattern are somewhat reminiscent of Ukrainian "vocal and instrumental ensembles" of the 1970s-80s: there was in that music a sort of sunshine, innocent, trusting openness to the world. Here – the same.

The author project by Serhiy Sakhno – the drummer of the legendary VV. "Akapulko" presents a completely new musical style, "trip-twist", as well as an incredible mix of Ukrainian melodies, dynamic hard "rock'n'pop", and the bluesy psychedelia of the 60s combined with the highly fashionable today "new sound of Berlin"...

The performance concert by Oleh Skrypka and Les Podervyansky "Humanists" took place in December, 2000. Actually, 10 years after, in January, 2011, the performance got a new life... This recording is the case of an exclusive creative collaboration of two personalities significant for the modern Ukrainian culture.

This recording is the case of an exclusive creative collaboration of two personalities significant for the modern Ukrainian culture. It is a pity that Les Podervyansky does not sing here. Instead, Oleh Skrypka actively participates in duping the plays, and this creates an additional comic and grotesque effect.. Published for the first time.

"I consider that the "retro" style, in which the album "Dahlia" is performed, is elegant – Oleh Skrypka says. – Moreover, jazz, tango, foxtrot, swing are generally considered European and overseas genres, and with this project I want to demonstrate that our country as well has its own rich, unique and high quality music history."

Rogachevsky is the current guitarist of "VV". Starting from as long back as 1998. But he was also engaged in music earlier – actually, fruits of those exercises are collected in this double disk. We admit – these fruits are strange, and not everyone will enjoy tasting them. But if you like minimalism, punk, ska and rock-and-roll – by no means pass by it.

Belarus bands famous here are specific in their artistic, nonlinear attitude to arrangements, self-irony and – they are somehow particularly enlightened, I guess. When one listens to them – sometimes it seems that they are singing the anthem of the Sun, facing the dark wall of the ancient forest. And Vuraj in this regard is no exception.

...the album at once creates elated, festive mood – but in a surprising way. In the correct way. Because, although about a half of the compositions can hardly be called merry ones – a smile is very expressly felt in them. Somewhere dim, somewhere transparent, somewhere dreamy, somewhere thoughtful – but it is present in each piece, and it warms.

"Red Cardell" wished to create an album open for the whole world. As a result, French chanson was mixed with African rhythms, Ukrainian authentic singing – with Oriental, Asian melodies, Celtic archaic – with elements of trip- and hip-hop. And all this together laughs, dances, gets a bit sad, makes love...

Their music is the mixture of everything that gets into your hands and is reinforced by a powerful and skilful spiritual section. You can find practically everything here, starting with grunge and ending with raggy, and all that is fully stuffed with Byelorussian outlook and sense of humour...
