It is not for the first time that I hear songs performed by “Sokoly”, and it will not be an exaggeration if I say that each time they arouse tender emotions in me. As it used to seem from the very beginning and continues to seem now, they are somewhat eccentric, somewhat naive and simple, but at the same time calm and not bustling. I do not know why, but I want to call them grown-up children. May be, because childhood is associated with a light sensing of the world, with the forehead not saddened. I take their art exactly in this way. It is exactly in this way that their songs sound at this disc, though they are devoted to the 60-th anniversary of the Ukrainian Rebel Army, and an army and a war are very serious and severe things. But thanks to such ingenuous manner of performance, it suddenly comes to your mind that warriors were not History, but alive people who loved, gave way to despair, fought for the freedom of Ukraine. And in the first place they were people, usual people, like you and me. That is why it is possible to say that “The Falcons” have flown up not in vain. In the end I will say that this is not a studio recording. This is a recording of the concert given by “Sokoly” in Toronto, Canada, in 1990. In those times everything only started.

Audio cassette/ ..This is, without exaggeration, a legendary album. And it was not even about the list of the project's authors.. The album was first released in 2000 – and it was perhaps the first collection of insurgents' songs in modern arrangements in Ukraine. And it still, in my opinion, remains the best one.

Я тільки зараз дізнався- 29 липня 2007року через важку хворобу відійшов із життя шанований багатьма краянами співак, один із засновників і багатолітній соліст гурту “Соколи”, який протягом кількох останніх років присвятив себе сольній кар’єрі, народний артист України Іван Мацялко...
Вічна йому пам`ять...Саме з гуртом "Соколи" у мене асоціюються повстанські та стрілецькі пісні...

"Соколи" - давня моя симпатія, згадую враження від двох давніх "живих" концертів, маю інші записи гурту.
Але саме цей диск є квінтесенцією їх творчості. Давно шукав.
Музичний рівень гурту "Соколи" - надзвичайно високий.
Шкода, нині в репертуарі переважають пісні Марії Шалайкевич - пісні чудові, але брак у гурті Івана Мацялка відчувається. Не тому, що він неповторний і незамінний, а тому, що збідніла загальна голосова палітра такого чудового гурту.

I have seen this group perform live when they did a concert tour in England, and I very much enjoyed their singing and playing, their songs are moving, traditional but with a modern twist, and the songs, music and words are those that our parents, who moved to England, brought us up with. It expresses Ukraine how I would imagine it was when our parents lived there many years ago. Excellent CD.

Я дуже радий, що встиг придбати цей диск. На ньому записані дуже рідкісні пісні, які я довго шукав.
