Chorna rada. (DVD). (Black Council)
The film is based on the novel with the same title by the Ukrainian classic writer Panteleimon Kulish.

The main events of the film develop in the times in history that were difficult for Ukraine. After death of B.Khmelnytsky, competition for the hetman's position accelerates between Yakym Somko and Ivan Bryuhovetsky, the Black Council (1663) becomes the culmination of the bitter political opposition. Against the background of political intrigues, unexpected unions and treasons, another plot line develops – that related to love... Wide-scale battle scenes, picturesque national costumes, famous and favorite actors make the film attractive for the widest possible range of audience.
