"The book tells about Mykhaylo Havrylko – sculptor, painter, poet, the creator and chotar of USS, insurgent chieftain. His fate is closely linked with the fate of Ukrainians in the Austro-Hungarian and Russian empires, as he is remembered in history not only as an artist, but also as a harbinger of the Independent Ukraine and a troops organizer (Ukrainian Sichovi Striltsi and the UNR Army Gray Division), which aimed at gaining national independence.

Mykhaylo Havrylko is the creator of stormy Shevchenko series. He immortalized Taras Shevchenko in busts, monuments, bas-reliefs, portraits, posters, medallions, and in words. For the artist, he was the key figure in the Ukrainian history and Ukrainian spirituality. Havrylko believed that "every word by Shevchenko the prophet will fall as an arrow of the God's thunder, leading the most ardent hearts of the best sons of Ukraine to a fierce battle in the name of it". With the fiery word by Shevchenko, the Poltava Cossack entered the battle against the Russian empire that he was a citizen of – entered because it enslaved his homeland...
The events take place in the Russian empire, Austro-Hungary, France and Ukrainian People's Republic, in the territory of the modern Ukraine's oblasts, in St. Petersburg, Krakow, Vienna and Paris.
Recommended by the historical club "Holodny Yar" for studying at secondary and higher educational institutions of Ukraine."
