"Tracing, to the extent that I manage that during my visits to Ukraine, the modern variety art (...) in our sovereign nation, I once again observe that expansion of the Russian musical "consumer trash" (...) achieves hazardous scales. It should not be allowed that the Russian variety art to this extent "dulled" minds of the young generation, became dominant in our state, for the tendency that now exists all over the mass media and scene walks in Ukraine threatens our state-forming process. For Ukrainians, it is already the highest time to get rid of the inferiority complex. For too long we have been in the clutch of Russian imperialism and communist totalitarianism. For eighteenth years now the Ukrainian state has been built, but for some reason the impression is that, forgetting about the foundation, they immediately proceed to bricking the walls. Such construction is doomed to fall to pieces without proper support. Only those nations that do not yield their authenticity and culture will manage to withstand and preserve their historical prospect in the contemporary cruel, dynamic, technological and changeable world...
