Les Podervyansky. All works: 33 plays. (mp3). /digi-pack/.
This publication includes 4 plays that have never been released before!

Complete collected works on one disc – it deserves attention. Les’ Poderev’yansky is a prime example of how aesthetic nonconformism spiced with a sharp sense of humour can result in practically national recognition. This recognition is not necessarily positive – here, votes are divided, presumably, approximately 50 to 50. But both those who actively like creativity by Poderev’yansky and those who actively dislike it – know what it is about. That is – they have heard it. And, mostly, quite attentively – as they either spit loudly, or laugh loudly. And that is, by the way, characteristic – reaction to his works is practically never indifferent, parallel. In any case, it touches the live nerve, compels to think, causes some internal and external diffusion, clearing, revision, estimation and other processes like that. In the end, I would not say that all of his plays are really so identically funny – they have another thing in common. It seems to me that Les’ Poderev’yansky is a master of observation. At that – universal one. That is, he is able to identically attentively and qualitatively scrutinize both general and absolutely local things, acts, and schemes. And to easily switch their places, derive the former from the latter and vice versa. It is, we could say, inductive deduction – let connoisseurs of the logic excuse these words to me. We only have to feel pity that all of these riches remain practically inaccessible for those who do not know two languages – the Ukrainian and swearing ones, because high-quality translation is almost impossible here. Yes, it is not a revolution. But it is sharp. And thus it is able to urge changes. Amen.

Kuzma Skryabin. Ja, "Pobeda" i Berlin. (mp3). /digi-pack/

This book is the literary debut of the known Ukrainian singer Andriy Kuzmenko (Kuzma), the leader of the group Skryabin. Two stories are included into the collection. The first one – "Me, "Pobeda" and Berlin" – is full of bright sense of humor, merry moods and, probably, will make even very serious readers laugh. The second story – "City Where Money Does Not Circulate" – is of quite a different genre.
