1990-th. The times when Ukraine vindicated its political and geographical independence, when at last it chose its road. In those times it seemed as if for Yuriy Rybchynskyi the roads were not chosen yet. He was already a famous maestro; he was known and recognised not only in Ukraine. To my mind, the perfection of skills rather than search for it was going on in his creative work since that time. That’s the reason why the songs acquired larger scale in themselves. It is easy to feel that this person now feels the right to speak on behalf of all people, on behalf of all audience of many millions. And this internal self-confidence of his is based exactly on his recognition. Now he is a master who knows exactly what to say, as he knows exactly what they want to hear from him.
