With light movements he lays simple strokes and transparent colours and one by one simple and unconstrained pictures, the landscapes of peoples’ souls, appear in front of you. You can find everything here – all seasons, changes of light and mood, sounds of a city and strange nature. At the end of the 20-th century there is no need for Yuriy Rybchynskyi to prove something to somebody. On the contrary, his authorship itself testifies to the certain class, the certain level. This level is recognised by everybody – by listeners, by performers and by those who have power in our state. I’d rather call him a universal soldier of Ukrainian variety art.
