One can hardly call the "Mekhanichny Apelsyn" (Mechanical Orange) band's artistic way an easy one – they issued their
debut album only in the 17
th year of their existence. Now, they are almost 20, and their second album "The Circus of Flowers" sounds much more balanced and serious, and in many other ways different. Stylistically, it is still based on blues-rock, and even with little insertions of reggae, ska, etc, this is the same band. In other words, the musicians did not surrender to the temptation to make the sounding easier – the temptation that gets over the majority of the younger rock bands. The
Mechanical Orange remains itself. It is quite possible that for some this music may sound rather retro, but for many it will first of all sound honest. No make-up, no pretence. Everything is as it is in reality. Rather a rarity today…
