Kyiv Chamber Choir. Ukrainian Easter.
Among all Christian holidays two of them – Christmas and Easter – are the most favourite and the most solemn ones. And Christmas is a light and clear gladness, over which children can rejoice best of all. As for Easter, it is an “adult” joy, as well as conscious hope and great responsibility for your own fate – but still, all the same joyful. This is a holiday of love that raises the earth up to the skies, and doesn’t try to draw the sky to the earth. This is a holiday of love that by the highest standards abolishes the difference between them, because actually they both are, as a matter of fact, different qualities of the same light. And may be today you will be able to present somebody with the joy of your heart, and demand nothing at all in return. That’s why, in any case, such presents won’t be redundant for the world, and you know that well. It is such a holiday. It is such music. Easter.
