Ukrainian world ethno festival "Kraina Mriy" is the international musical folklore action, as well as traditional dances, handicraft and public merrymaking, which takes place every year since 2004 in Kiev (Ukraine).
The main idea of festival consists in a revival of the traditional Ukrainian folk culture, support of modern musical world ethnic styles, acquaintance of the Ukrainian spectator with the elements of ethnos of different people.
Initiator, the founder and artistic director of the festival is Oleh Skrypka, the leader of the legendary Ukrainian rock band Vopli Vidopliassova (www.vopli.com.ua). The title song written by a band ("Kraina Mriy" – "Land Of Dreams") gave the name of international ethnic festival.
This year "The Land of Dreams" becomes a country of ethnic jazz. Among the guest stars - Turkish Oriental-dub-capella "BaBa Zula", Gypsy Orchestra New Orlean blues "Hazmat Madine" (New York), Canadian folk-jazzi "De Temps Antan", tuvian shamans "Yat-ha", and the headliner will be Jazz-cabaret of Oleh Ckrypka, whith a special new program.
