Do you remember the sensational project S M V: Stanley Clarke, Marcus Miller, Victor Wooten? This project gathered three brilliant bass players to show the world how interesting that kind of unusual mixture can be.
Summer Jazz Night and ONLINE.fm present a Ukrainian version of SMV. The triple battle will take place for the first time on the stage of the art-club "44". Three bass players will be competing with each other, showing their skills, and are going try to win audience’s love. The audience will decide which one of them is better.
Artem Lebedev is one of the "loudest" bass players of Ukraine. He is the winner of the "Do#Dj Junior 2007" contest in the category "The best bass guitar player", the first prize winner of the "Do#Dj Junior 2007" contest as a member of "Links & Lebedev Brothers". Today Artem Lebedev is a student of Glier Institute of music, participant of jazz festivals, band leader, skillful player and the master of the "right" groove.
Mykola Kistenev – bass player. He graduated from a conservatory in button accordion performance and is a winner of many international contests. His sudden love for bass guitar and double base has lead him straight to jazz. He works with Dmitry Alexandrov, Alexander Pavlov, Oleg Markov, Dmitri Kovalenko, Pavel Litvinenko, Alexander Murenko, Max Malyshev and Alexander Malyshev. He is the member of Mazafunka Group. Nikolay also worked with Karl Frierson and musicians from The No Smoking Orchestra (of Emir Kusturica).
Konstantin Ionenko – bass player. He is one of the most in-demand bass players in Ukraine. He works with leading Ukrainian jazz musicians. Konstantin was a member of such bands: Solomin Band, Anno Domini, Alexander Fokin Radioband, Sergey Ovsianikov Trio, Natalia Lebedeva Trio and many others. Konstantin Ionenko considers his work with American and Canadian musicians at Bill Barron Quintet and performing on one stage with Eric Marienthal as his biggest achievements.
