The "Kyiv Classic" Orchestra is unique in Ukraine. For the time being it is the only non-governmental orchestra in Ukraine. This status allows us to be very flexible. The audience of the orchestra has been growing steadily over the past few years. The Kyiv Classic Orchestra is well-known not only in Ukraine but also in many other countries.
Dr. Herman Makarenko is the Conductor and Music Director of the Kyiv Classic Orchestra. The orchestra is active in going on tours. In 2006 alone the Kyiv Classic Orchestra gave concerts in France, Belgium, and Italy. During those trips the orchestra, in particular, played at such prestigious halls as the Great Hall of UNESCO and the Madeleine Church.
The composition of the Kyiv Classic Orchestra can differ in size from a chamber orchestra (10 to 12 players) to a symphony orchestra (100 players.)
The activitites of the Kyiv Classic Orchestra can be divided into three areas:
- concert and tour activities;
- music recording;
- performances at high-level events.
The advantages of the orchestra include:
- high professionalism and mastery of players - the orchestra's players have participated in a number of international contests and events throught the globe;
- flexibility - the composition of the orchestra can differ depending on the requirements of an event;
- mobility - the orchestra's management is ready to consider proposals to perform at special events on the required day and time, provided all the details are approved beforehand.
