Pomaranch

They come from a place that nobody would imagine them to come from. They play music so simple and fresh that one would hardly expect to emerge in our days. Despite all that, here they are – Nicholas (leading vocal, guitar), AlexZander (bass, keyboards, backing vocal) and Max (drums & percussion).
Formed in 1999 the trio was one of the numerous Ukrainian bands that were springing up as part of the Ukrainian cultural rebirth. Drifting on that wave their first band called Pomaranch (means "orange") participated in all major Ukrainian music festivals including "Tavriyski Igry" (Tavriya Games) and "Perlyny Sezonu" where they won "Best Rock Band" title in 2003. Named "opening of the year" Pomaranch toured scenes all over Ukraine, and the future seemed to be promising.
The bad news came when the Orange Revolution burst out in late 2004 and being named "Orange" the band inevitably become associated with Viktor Yushchenko’s political bloc. Despite all attempts to dissociate from this and the release of their debut album in 2005 the band recognized they would need to start off from the very beginning. As a result a brand new group "eat me tiger" appeared in spring 2006.

“Pomaranch” is the energy of colour.  It is a cheerful, fresh, flexible, hot, not completely fluid, but quite a pellucid energy.
