The Vydubychi Church Chorus was founded in Kyiv, Ukraine in 1990 at the beginning of the revival of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church It was one of the first choirs to sing divine liturgies in Ukrainian in the renewed churches of the City ofKyiv and beyond Since 1993 the Vydubychi Chorus has sung in the 11th - 17th century churches of the Vydubychi Men's Monastery in Kyiv ith a repertoire of sacred choral works, Christmas carols, Easter music and Ukrainian folk songs, the Chorus has produced many CDs, published in Ukraine the first Ukrainian-language collection of scores of sacred choral music, and performed at festive events, concerts and festivals, including the 8th Ukrainian World Congress (Kyiv 2003), Christmas Tour of Belgium (1998), Grand Tour of Canada (May 1997) and 4th International Symposium of Choral Music (Sydney 1996) The Chorus is organised as a non-sectarian, community-based society "Vydubychi" whose purpose is the promotion and development of Ukrainian choral music.
