J.R.R.Tolkien. Hobit, abo Tudy i zvidty. (The Hobbit or There and Back Again)
"This is a story about an unbelievable quest of a company of dwarves to win a share of the treasure guarded by the dragon. Halfconsciously Bilbo Baggins follows them in their adventure: a home-loving and quiet hobbit who, to his own astonishment, appeared to be a skilful and inventful burglar. Fighting with trolls, goblins, dwarves, elves and giant spiders, a conversation with Smaug the Great and rather unintentional presence at the Battle of Five Armies – that is how he spent most of the time during this quest. But there are also some brighter moments: a faithful friendship, a tasty food, a good deal of laughing and singing.
The Hobbit
written by professor Tolkien for his own children won ardent appreciation immediately after its publication, being at the same time a wonderful novel of its own and a preamble to the world-known The Lord of the Rings."
Translated from English by Olena O'Lear.
