Usually "The Best Of" collections are released in a period of calm, when there is still not enough fresh material. But Boombox did it the other way: this compilation has appeared just before the release of a fresh album and soon after the release of the collection "Blends, Mixes and other Music Parodies". Why so? Possibly, the point is that the new album is announced as an experimental one and, thus, there is a sense in reminding against the background of what sounding this experiment takes place. Moreover, in each of the three number albums by "Boombox" there are enough songs that it is pleasant to remember and that are worth being heard again that's a fact. Although if you are an old fan of this group, the need for such collection can hardly be urgent. But it really contains the best, thus it can just appear convenient ) Well, and if you have right now decided to become acquainted with creativity of "Boombox", this is, probably, just the optimum option for the "first date"...

Regarding songs by Boombox, it has always been interesting to listen to the lyrics among other things, due to their disposition to (and the ability of) playfulness. But the further, the less verbal balancing they contain but more poignant senses, refined formulas, comprehensive observations. The new (mini)album "Naked King" is a very vivid evidence of that..

...The updates are not so radical that it is impossible to recognize originals but, on the other hand, the sound nature appears surprisingly diverse.
