(item from the "Rare Discs" section) With these songs, Ruslana not just loudly declared herself and Ukraine – she actually vanquished Europe. At least, in the end of May, 2006, they conducted a poll – and Ruslana’s song "Wild Dances" was recognized as the best song during the whole history of the "Eurovision" contest (51 years!). It was not some board that recognized that, but usual spectators and listeners all through Europe. So, the thing here is the issue most valuable for a performer – recognition by people. It seems that it can justly be called the triumph. However, it is not necessary to take into account anybody’s opinion – you’d better listen yourselves. Ruslana suggests a new perspective of popular culture – actually, as of a version of culture, and not just some consumer goods. At least, pop-music may become such – sated with historical, cultural associations and transformations, reconsiderations. Pop-music is also able to rely on deep ethnic roots. What a fantastic cd, Ruslana has a total unique style of her own and its great.
The cd is packed with great songs, great beats, great lyrics.
The new single Same Star is the best track on the cd and should be a monster hit across the globe.
Would highly recommend this cd to anyone its FAB.

This album works well in the English-speaking world primarily because Ruslana sings in English on most of the tracks. It makes sense for her to broaden her markets - especially because she deserves success world-wide. There are top-quality, world-standard songs on this album. "The Same Star" and "Like a Hurricane" are hit potential. I've said it before - Ruslana should tour (maybe one day we'll see her in Australia!!).

First I was so impressed by the umka site that I could hear samples of Ruslana's CD first before ordering and then the ordering from Ukraine was flawless and now I am able to have my soul re-invigorated every day from Ruslana's up-beat tempo and original lively Ukrainian music. Its a must hear for anyone on this planet.

The English version of Wild Dances, and a brilliant introduction to Ruslana's music which is fantastic. From this album I started listening to the Ukrainian CD's and you really are able to to do `pigeon' translation of some of the Ukrainian versions once you have picked up on the tunes which she also sings in English. An excellent introduction to Ruslana.

I'm fan of Eurovision Song Contest where I have discovered Ruslana.
Her music is full of energy and very original. I like THAT sound. It's a very good CD.
Also, thanks to internet and Umka to give the opportunity to order music that is difficult to find in some countries.
