Tatiana Tairova-Yakovleva. Ivan Mazepa i Rosiyska imperia: istoria "zrady". (Ivan Mazepa and the Russian Empire: the history of "treason")
"The study by the known Russian historian Tatiana Tairova-Yakovleva answers the most pressing question concerning activities of Ivan Mazepa: if he was a traitor or not. Using materials from Russian and Ukrainian archives, the author examines the circumstances of Mazepa's coming to power, his relations with Peter I, domestic policies, personal and business relations with officers and people surrounding the Russian tsar, as well as analyzes reasons of Mazepa's passage to Swedes (the "scorched land" plan, the administrative reform, etc.).

The book is intended for researchers, teachers, students, and all those interested in the history of Ukraine and, in particular, the figure of Ivan Mazepa."
