Borys Hmyrya. Za myr na Zemli. (For the Peace on Earth)
"The military theme is a special page in life and work of Borys Hmyrya, taking into account his forced stay in the territory of Ukraine occupied by fascists (1941-1944)... Only a crystal clear person could perform pieces by soviet composers on military topics in that way. It was not a fault of Hmyrya that he stayed in the occupied Kharkiv, but his genius, nobleness, all-embracing love to his people, art were his "guilt". But, unfortunately, human envy is a terrible thing... The singer could only oppose it with his high art. And he did it with an extraordinary triumph and truth, about which the Leningrad resident Iryna Venert wrote highly sincerely in her confession. And this is especially important, as the Leningrad residents who survived the blockade of the city, lost their relatives, had the right to judgement. But they understood that Hmyrya was a victim, as well as they were. And that is why they turned him into a symbol of disobedience, truth and light. Thus, when Borys Romanovych came on a tour to Leningrad and performed "Monologue about Tanya" by K.Dankevych, "Buhenvald Bells" by V.Muradelli and "War Leader" by M.Musorgsky, they always stood up and listened while standing, tears in their eyes. Borys Hmyrya considered these three pieces to be his contribution into the struggle for the peace on Earth.

By the force of impacting the heart and mind of people, it is a striking artistic performance. And the rest 23 pieces on the military theme in interpretation of the glorious singer produce not less impression..." Ganna Prints

Dmytro Hnatyuk. Nich taka misjachna. /light pack, slim box/.

There is something in it, some transparent depth, which does not leave you indifferent, so that you feel that the song is performed not formally, as it happens sometimes, but it comes from inside. That’s the reason why it sounds somehow intimately – as if this person himself once composed this song and still remembers why and how it happened.
