You may fail to know that Oleksandr Malinin is a very famous Russian singer. I have never heard him sing in Ukrainian before or even pronounce a Ukrainian word. Still, it makes this experiment even more interesting. He proves two things - everything of Ukrainian nature becomes very popular and neither borders nor languages may become an obstacle for a real talent. Malinin is really a talented singer and he became famous due to the fact that in his time he started to perform Russian romances, old and new ones. I am not sure about men, but there are not so many women on the post-Soviet area who do not know or love him. That is why, I think, this disc with songs in Ukrainian is first of all the present for Ukrainian women. I would also like to mention that his rich experience of performing romances has assisted Oleksandr Malinin to embellish Ukrainian songs and to make them sound in a different light. He has used that chance and the songs have gained much of that - and of course, we, the listeners, have gained much, too. I would also recommend you to compare this album with the album "Two Colors" recorded by Kvitka Cisyk.

Голос Малініна - це, без сумніву, від Бога. Дуже цікаво було послухати українські пісні в його виконанні. Майже без акценту (місцями, все ж таки, є ) :) На мою думку, деякі пісні дуже гармонічно звучать в поєднанні з його голосом, наприклад, Ніч яка місячна, Два кольори. Інколи, все ж здається, що чуєш ті російські романси, завдяки яким ми його і знаємо. Але в цілому - відмінно!
Браво! Хоча б тільки за те, що зробив такий альбом, і зробив дуже добре.

A fantastic Russian tenor singer of Ukrainian music some of which which sets the feet tapping and makes the heart happy (even though I do not understand the language). Other tracks are filled with emotion and feeling which shows in his singing, as though it comes from his deep inner being and making it a delight to hear. There is nothing mediocre about this fine artist even though there is some sliding of notes. This CD will be enjoyed for a very long time.

Мені дуже сподобалося. Особливо Червона Калина. Це в нього справді добре вийшло. Мой діти навіть через роки після Помаранчевої осіні, коли чують Червону Калину у виконанні Малініна, аж заходяться, так підспівують. Звичайно, щось він відверто списав. Там деякі пісні, їх аранжування, списані з диску Квітки Цісик. Один в один. Так не можна. Ну і з "паляницею" теж можно було б більше попрацювати. Якщо дядько маю слух, то що вже так важко вивчити де "и" а де "і" а де і "ы". А в цілому дуже дуже добре.
